Online Learning: Configuration

This guide explains how to configure the online learning module settings in your system. To get started, Go to "Online Learning" Configurations.

The Online Learning Module empowers you to deliver educational courses to your membership, allowing members to learn at their own pace. Courses can be constructed using a variety of materials created by you, including videos, informational web pages (slides), and assessments. Members receive immediate feedback upon completing assessments, providing them with timely insights into their performance. 

Courses can be developed through the Online Learning option accessible within the Member Area.


Configuration Options


  1. Enable Shopping Cart Mode: Allow users to add courses to a shopping cart (similar to the online store) and then purchase courses together in a single transaction for themselves. Invoices created this way are not made active until payment is successful or check payment is indicated.
  2. Force Course Retakes: Enforces users to retake the entire course, not just tests.
  3. Enable Check Payments: Allow check payment options.
  4. Require Confirmation Before Course Invoices are Created: Initiating a paid course automatically generates an invoice. However, if configured, users will be prompted to confirm their purchase before invoice creation.
  5. Block Non-Member From Using Check Payments: Restricts check payments to members only.
  6. Enable Course Proctor Code Option: Allows requiring a proctor code to oversee courses.
  7. Enable Course Groups: Permits grouping courses together.
  8. Allow Members to Purchase Multiple Courses for Themselves at Once: Enables members to add multiple courses to their shopping cart-style purchase.
  9. Allow Parent Members to Purchase Courses for Xref Members: Enables parent members to purchase courses for linked child records.
  10. Allow Parent Members to View Course Status Information for Xref Members: Allows parent members to view course progress of linked child records.
  11. Enable Slide Timers: Enforces a minimum viewing time for slides.
  12. Enable Exclude from Table of Contents Option: Allows excluding specific slides from the course navigation.
  13. Enable Course Admin Numbers: Allows admins to set an internal admin number for each course. These numbers are not seen by the course-takers and are for internal use and organization only.
  14. Allow Cross Referenced Members to Inherit their Parent's Type: Grants child records the same member type as the parent for access control.
  15. Default Course Listing to 'List View': Changes the course listing from grid view to list view.
  16. Display Certifications Earned from Courses in 'My Course Activity' Popup: Shows earned certifications in the "My Course Activity" section.
  17. Default to Category List Instead of Course List: Groups courses by category instead of individually listing them.
  18. Consolidate Categories into Single Group on Course Listing Page: Combines all categories into one group on the course listing page.
  19. Add Duplicate Navigation Bar to Bottom of Course Page: Adds another navigation bar at the bottom of the course listing page for easier scrolling.
  20. Enable Course Category Images: Uploads default images for course categories.
  21. Attach Certificates Earned from Courses as PDFs instead of Images: Saves certificates as PDFs instead of images.
  22. Award Certificates Even if Member Already Holds Active One: Will force the system to always award certificates when they are earned from courses regardless of anything the member currently holds.
