The News Manager helps you create and manage news items for your organization's website. You can display news in various formats and link to additional information.
Creating News Items
- Access: The News Manager homepage shows existing news items. Add new items at the top and manage categories at the bottom.
- Visibility: Use the "Show" checkbox to control whether a news item is public or a draft.
- Timing: Set a publish date (or publish immediately) and an optional expiration date.
- Content: Add a headline, a brief description, and link to full content (internal or external).
- Organization: Assign categories and add a thumbnail image.
Public News Article Submission
- Enable: Activate public submissions in the News Manager settings, specify a notification email, and optionally restrict to members.
- Access: When enabled, members can submit articles through their member dashboard or a public link.
- Review: Submitted articles are sent to the specified email and appear in the "View Pending Articles" section.
- Action: Approve articles to add them to the main list or deny them to remove them. Pending articles can be edited and published.
Note: News Manager differs from Press Releases, which are for member-submitted news.
